Hospice Huronia

Hospice Huronia‘s Mission:  To enhance the quality of life for individuals and their families facing life-threatening illness or bereavement.  Offering Comfort, Care, Compassion to individuals, their loved ones and caregivers, who are experiencing a life-threatening illness or grieving a loss.

Death of a loved one affects us all and Hospice Huronia has been providing support to individuals and families in North Simcoe since 1993 through home visiting and bereavement support programs.

In addition to these valued programs, they expanded to offer full service hospice care through a residential hospice named Tomkins House that opened in April 2020.  Their services, including those of a residential hospice, are free to the client. For every client they serve, research shows that they also positively impact/support an average of 5 family members.

In October 2018, our $17,750 donation was directed toward the capital campaign of the residential hospice that became Tomkins House. At the time, they anticipate supporting 1,900 people/year with all their programs once the residential hospice was open.
