On the evening of Monday, June 6th, 2022, Guys Who Care North Simcoe held their first in-person meeting in over two years at the Midland Golf & Country Club in Midland, Ontario. It was well attended despite very wet conditions. From the three local charities presented at the meeting the Midland Foodbank run by the Salvation Army was selected as the recipient of the funding raised. The week a total of $16,240 was presented to Kim Duquette and Aimee Thomas of the Salvation Army outside the Dominion Avenue Foodbank.
After three different presentations from a random selection of nominations, the ‘Guys’ voted by ballot and selected the Midland Foodbank run by the Salvation Army as the recipient of their $16,240 donation.
Guys Who Care have now been in existence for 5 1/2 years and in that time have raised and donated over $266,000 to 12 local charities. The Guys organization has no overheads and every single dollar raised goes directly to the beneficiary charities.
